Devin Answers Your Questions...
My hardest time of the day is breakfast. Do you have any ideas for breakfast options, other than cereal?
Like you, I find it can sometimes be difficult to start my day off right with a healthy breakfast — especially when my schedule gets crazy. And the crazier it is, the more important it is that we nourish our bodies properly. But busy doesn’t mean that breakfast has to be boring or fattening.
When you get caught in the same old routine of eating cereal every day, try this simple recipe. It’s one of my favorite quick, breakfast creations from my book The Most Decadent Diet Ever!: a vanilla, chocolate and strawberry breakfast sundae. It’s made with fat-free vanilla yogurt, granola, sliced strawberries and chocolate syrup.
Just spoon some yogurt into a small, deep bowl. Sprinkle granola (about three tablespoons) evenly over the yogurt. Top the granola with strawberries and then drizzle evenly with chocolate syrup.
Now you have a delicious and quick breakfast that only takes about three minutes to make, is less than 200 calories, and has just one gram of fat!

I recently saw you on the Fit channel and loved
your recipes. Do you have a cookbook and where can I purchase one if you do?
I'm so glad you're enjoying my recipes! I've written a couple of cookbooks and
have another on the way (April 2008). Fast Food Fix shows you how to make much
healthier versions of your favorite fast foods from the Big Mac to the
Cinnabon. I also wrote the New York Times Bestseller, The Biggest Loser
Cookbook, to accompany the hit NBC television show.
My latest book, which will hit stores shelves in April
2008, but is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com, is The Most Decadent
Diet Ever!, which includes more than 125 recipes for your favorite foods that
only taste fattening. In this book, I also share my story of how I've
maintained a 55-pound weight loss for more than 15 years, all while eating
foods such as rigatoni with meat sauce, "Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry
Breakfast Sundaes" and "Chocolate Not-Only-In-Your-Dreams Cakes." The book also
shows you how to work convenient and delicious options into your diet such as
Weight Watchers® Smart Ones® frozen entrées, because we don't always have time
to cook every meal.
All three books are available through Amazon.com. Or you can visit my
Web site, www.devinalexander.com and follow the "Books" link to "Buy Now." There
you also will find sample recipes from the books so you can try a few out
before you buy the books!

I saw on Discovery Health where you made a low carb
pizza. I looked on the Discovery Health website but did not see the recipe. My
husband was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and he is really missing
pizza. Where could I find a recipe for low carb?
On Healthy Decadance, I featured a lower fat and lower calorie pizza but I also
love making lower carb pizzas. You can make thin and crispy pizza crusts by
using low fat*, whole wheat tortillas. Just preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Place the tortillas on a nonstick baking sheet and bake them for about 3 - 4
minutes per side (for tortillas that are about 8 inches in diameter) until
crsip. If air bubbles form, poke them with a fork and then press out the air
with a spatula or oven mitt. Top the tortillas with sauce, light cheese and
your favorite lean toppings and bake until the cheese is melted, usually about
2 - 4 minutes. *Please note when making these, you cannot use low carb
tortillas or full fat ones as they won't crisp properly. I use tortillas that
say, "96% fat free" or "98% fat free".

Chef Alexander, I just thought I'd mention that I
tried your Smart Ones® Fruit Inspirations™ for the first time, and they are ABSOLUTELY
FABULOUS! So I had to get on the site & say THANK YOU for making my Weight
Watchers lifestyle so much easier. God bless!
I'm so glad you enjoy Smart Ones® Fruit Inspirations™ entrées! We love hearing such great feedback. My
favorite is the Orange Sesame Chicken. It totally satisfies my Chinese food
cravings without having to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. One easy way to
incorporate Fruit Inspirations™ into your diet is to host a "Girls Night In."
Because I have such a busy schedule, these meals are a Godsend when I want to
have my girlfriends over because preparing the meals is so easy. Once I remove
them from the microwave, I put the contents on platters and make a big salad or
some veggies to accompany them and viola! Quality time with friends while
enjoying delicious and nutritious food is appreciated by all.
My favorite "Girls Night In" party was when I purchased
Chinese takeout containers and prepared Smart Ones® Fruit Inspirations™ Pineapple Beef Teriyaki, Orange Sesame Chicken and
Smart Ones Thai Style Chicken with Rice Noodles and filled the containers with
the entrées. I also made my Snap Pea Stir Fry, which can be found in The Most
Decadant Diet Ever! I then paired each entrée with chop sticks and fortune
cookies. It was a huge hit and my girlfriends couldn't believe I found the
meals in the frozen food aisle.
