This Week's Tip

Weighing In on Kitchen Scales

Many electronic scales let you switch between ounces, pounds and grams, depending on which measure you're most comfortable with. You can put a plate or bowl on the scale and then "zero" the scale after adding each ingredient by weight. This means fewer measuring cups and spoons to wash. You don't have to worry about whether you've packed ingredients too tightly or loosely in the measuring cup when you use a scale. A scale helps you dish up precisely the portion of food that you want to eat.
