Traveling for Pleasure

Vacation is a time to sit back and relax, but not the time for you to forget good habits! When dealing with breakfast choices first thing in the morning, remember that staying on course and maintaining a healthy routine will make your vacation that much better!

• If you can shop at a local supermarket or grocery store while on vacation, do it! Particularly for longer vacations, cooking your own healthy meals — even once a day — will save you a good amount of calories, and cash!

• Don’t want to cook? Seek out more nutritious restaurant options in the vacation area. Sometimes, a nice piece of fish at a family-owned restaurant can be the best meal you have all vacation!

• Pick a breakfast option that fits into your daily activities. If you're going hiking, climbing or snorkeling, plan on a meal that will boost energy and fill you up until you and the family are ready to take a break for lunch.

• Improvise. Fill your room’s ice bucket up and throw in some yogurt cups instead of eating at the hotel bakery!
